Today I stood up and thought about the following;
I’ve got an spare 5-bay Usb 3 enclose laying around, and also an RB3011 to play with..
The USB 3 enclosure is filled with 5 disks on Raid 0 (no need for the data on it to be safe..), hitting ~270Mb/s (or over 2Gbps)
First question; What would be the transfer speed of the USB 3 port on the RB3011? Could the CPU get it to peak 5Gbps?
if so or not so, Second question; Would it be theoretically possible to bond 2 ports to my server, and peek 2GB? Is it necessary to use both internal switches of the RB3011? Because the CPU is connected to both as i can tell from the Block Diagram.
Would love to hear your experience about this one.. Eventually i’ll test it and post the results ofcourse…
