I have a quite large 28VDC battery/solar site, with Ubiquiti(only) radios and Mikrotik(only) as routers, and on this site I must add a -48VDC device.
I cannot upgrade the whole site to -48V and use instant 802.3af adapters for the Ubiqs.
I would like to use a 28V to -48V non-isolated boost converter to obtain the -48V, but now earth paths are crossing. I cannot find an isolated converter, and I did not really want to run a mains AC inverter.
On the Mikrotik metal-case routers, what is the power supply negative isolation? Are there any -DC ground paths to the case? Any ideas and suggestions?
