TILE Broken After Rollback from 7.1.2 to 7.1.1

So I did the 7.1.2 update (from 7.1.1), all tunnels (IPSec) would not come back up..

My first thought was rollback to 7.1.1, because 7.1.1 was working.

After downgrading i have this on the console. Router is remote but I have a network-serial adapter on it..

Resetting chip and restarting.

Power cycle had no effect.

How can I recover this? Hopefully without NetInstall..

When you see

Could not mount ubifs/yaffs filesystem

This means you need to netinstall. I had this happen on my ccr1009 during one of the 7.x updates - the rest of the 7.x updates were fine.

Imo, it looks like something is corrupting the partition/partition table.

In my case it was 7.2rc2 to 7.2rc3. I applied it just to be consistent with my other devices but I made no config changes after 7.2rc2. I don’t know if that was the difference, timing between applying the two updates, just bad luck, or some other bug.

That is what I am afraid of.. Better than complete hardware failure I suppose, but I am 2000km away from it..

Netinstall did restore it.

One thing that messed me up for a long time is that after Starting Services.. (during boot) the

Router OS (version)

Username:

No longer appears on the console.. Just a blank screen with a flashing cursor..

Even pressing Enter a few times had no effect.. Being that I am not there, this really messed me up..

I Netinstalled it a few times, power cycled it, nothing except the flashing cursor..

Eventually hit some keys, which did show and pressed Enter

I was surprised when

Password:

appeared on the line below…

Entering the wrong password did show ‘Invalid’, then went back to the blank screen with the cursor..

System was/is running normally, but it is not displaying the normal login prompt anymore..

Edit: Only for TeraTerm, Putty works normally… Ok.. This is getting weird..
