Time Limits

Hi,

I’m finally starting to get my hands dirty with User Manager, but I’ve already come across a limitation.

Our hotspots usually do not have a time limit, they only have an uptime limit. This means that a customer can purchase a 1-hour voucher, then he can use this 1-hour whenever he chooses. He could use 10 minutes today, then use 20 minutes next week, 5 minutes the following week, etc… until he reaches the total used time of 1 hour.

How can I do this in User Manager? I know I can set an uptime-limit in UM, but I’d like to use the ‘pre-paid’ drop down box when I create users. So in this drop down menu I would have (example) 3 options:

1 hour (1 EUR)
6 hours (4 EUR)
24 hours (15 EUR)

.. but the hours can be used anytime. At the moment if I do this, and a user purchases a 1 hour account, the 1 hour expires exactly 1 hour after first use, even if the user used just 10 minutes then logged out.

Any ideas?

Specify validity +/- uptime.

I’m looking for something simpler. After all, User Man was built to allow non-techs to generate and print vouchers (such as hotel reception staff)

At the moment, the only way I could see to do what I need is to specify one credit type with a very long “Time” setting (eg. 36000 days), then specify the uptime-limit manually when generating user accounts, making sure I pick up the correct Credit type (in Prepaid drop down) to match the uptime-limit.

Even writing this down is messy, let alone implementing it. I need something which is fool-proof. All that needs to be added is an ‘uptime-limit’ to the Credits page.

Any chance of adding that?
