Topup user accounts using limits

Good day all, (Mikrotik professionals included)

I am using RB750G ROS 5.00 and User Manager 5.00

I have been using the system “almost” successfully the past month
but also only because I hired a consultant to setup the system.

I only use the User Manager part and the consultant use winbox.
I am far to old and stupid for line code

Or maybe this professional product needs a professionally written manual.

The consultant do not know everything in User Manager 5.00 and therefor
I have to post my questions here also due to a lack of updated documentation
if any on User Manager 5.00

I have created my users, I have created my limitations, I have created my profiles.

Once I create a user I can add (+) a profile to the user and the user can log in and
use the internet… no problem. (The system is running fine so far)

But how do I add a 2nd profile() while the 1st profile is still active or when the
1st profile limits has been reached.

) without having the system ignoring the set limits and the user can just carry on
downloading without stop

I understand how to add a second profile with the “+” sign, but when the second
profile is added there is a “activate” button next to it as the second profile is paused.

Does the second profile activate automatically and then ignore the rest of the limits?

This is what happened: I have added a second profile to a user and activated the second
profile manually because the 1st profile reached its limits…

Then when the 2nd profile also reached its limit it changed over to the 1st profile again
and the user went 200mb+ over the set limits, that’s when I disabled the user manually

My limitations is set by speed and transfer limits (Kib) NOT by time limits.

Please explain how to add profiles/TopUp user accounts the correct way?

My users buy internet by the Gig and when the limit is reached they can TopUp at any time
with another Gig manually at our offices.

I understand you are updating your “old” User manager 3 and 4 test documentation in Wiki
Please do the same for version 5.00.

I appreciate that you guys offer help here, but if the documentation was out in the first place
when the hardware came out I can help myself when needed. Not waiting a month for a answer.

Any feedback on my previous post please…

I now have to delete all sessions and reset user totals every time
a user want to top his account for calculations to work.

If I don’t do above when top up user profile, user can continue but totals
jump around in user manager.

Is there any other brand I should be looking at to run my hotspot successfully
as I do not see MikroTik giving their customers any support. Wish I knew this
before I invested in their undeveloped ROS/User manager.

I think your are an insult to the IT industry.

Why the hell have a payment system if the system cant sell / offer a service.

Go back to the drawing board. Not even your trained consultants can fix this junk.

we all here still waiting on stable usermanager, as we know, the version 5.4 not yet can be use for real production, or other word, we use just for test, and still many problems to be fix, the mikrotik staff know it, believe me until now just write email your problems and wait. :slight_smile:
i suggest keep using version 4.17.

If you are not anle to ise user manager for now. I suggest you try Access Manager, donot require much technical knowledge.. And I think, you ll find it very much useful. As your users wont need to come down to your office jist to topup their account. It can be done online using paypal with Access Manager. Check here: accessmanager.in
