my RB750 is set up pretty much like a standard small office router. Helping me setting up my mangle / queues rules I have been using the torch tool to check the traffic and I just can’t get me head around the logic. Everything seems upside down.
I my setup I named my PPPoE connection “GTS” and the connection is assigned the physical interface (ether!) named “Public”
When I start an Upload to a remote ftp ans use torch on the “GTS” interface I see the the connection carrying the upload as:
scr. address: 195.xxx.xxx.xxx (the remote FTP I am uloading to)
dst. address: 212.xxx.xxx.xxx (my public IP)
scr. port: 20
dst. port: 1344
I just can’t get my head around why the remote FTP I am uploading to is shown as the scr. address. The source is the PC on my lan and after the nat I would asume that the scr address would be my public IP.
How is torch working?
Thanks,
Pilgrim
