i work for a company that provides internet service to apartment buildings, i’ve noticed that we have 2 customers with the TP-Link version of the Google OnHub, both are doing the same time in the HotSpot, they’re connecting through a first gen Adtran NetVanta 1234 that runs to a first gen Adtran NetVanta 1544F, then to a MikroTik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+ router currently running v6.18, the customer assures us that the OnHub is in NAT mode, but we continue to see multiple entries of the OnHubs MAC address with public IP that is passing traffic and then a number different private IP addresses that is forcing the MikroTik to NAT these additional entries that are not passing any traffic, i was wondering if the OnHub is seeing our MikroTik and automatically going into a bridge mode and performing some sort of MAC masquerading, but Google support assures me that is not the case and suggests it is a problem with the MikroTik.
can someone provide some insight as to what is causing this?
i’m currently plan a maintenance window to upgrade the firmware, but i don’t believe that will help as there was the other customer on the same setup at another site and we upgraded that MikroTik to 6.34.2 and it didn’t seem to make a difference.
thank you.
