tproxy behind hotspot

hi folks,

how does the hotspot identify each client? by the IP address or by the MAC Address?
My question is: is possible to use a squid with tproxy in bridge mode behind the hotspot?
the situation would be something like:

(Clients) — (Access Point) — (Squid Bridge Mode w/ Tproxy) — (Mikrotik HOTSPOT) — (Internet)

there are some posts talking about tproxy + mikrotik but not talking about HOTSPOT.

thanks in advance,

sure, why not?

but… why Squid is between Clients and Hotspot? I think, it’s better to place it after the HotSpot

thanks for your answer,

it’s before the hotspot because we would like to provide full download speed for customers when the object is present in the proxy cache. is there a way to do this with the proxy being after the hotspot?

hmmm… maybe try look here: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/External_Squid_Box_with_No_Limit_Cache_HIT_Object_ROS_2.9
