Traffic Generator issue

Hi guys,
I’m using MT RB750 mipsbe + RouterOS 5.25 + Traffic Generator,
with 5.25 firmware, the stats becomes big and big, so it’s very long to parse the output with a script and sometimes router ends to crash.

So I decided to move to 6.2, because there is a new field in Traffic Generator named “Stats Samples to Keep”, so it’s perfect to keep only few entries.

But with 6.2, I get high latency in “stats report” with the same setup, I get LAT-MIN = 3s
I tried 6.3RC1 but same results.
Is the problem related to the footer added to packet ?

With firmware 5.25, latency is very low: LAT-MIN=42us, but… stats is so big.

Is there an issue reported about latency with Traffic Generator on RouterOS > 6.2 ?

Thanks.

can you give details of the configuration as we have not observed such issues but use traffic-generator quite extensively.

I took a screenshot of my configuration on RouterOS 6.2, see attachment.

Juste before upgrade to 6.2, with 5.25 all latency et jitter was very very low, like 28us.

My test setup:
Mikrotik 1 eth3(1.1.1.1/24) ======> Mikrotik 2 eth3(1.1.1.2/24)
Mikrotik 1 eth5(2.2.2.1/24) ======> Mikrotik 2 eth5(2.2.2.2/24)

Thanks.

I downgrade to 5.25, start the Traffic Generator and get packet-lost = 100%
So I simply removed the 2 packets template, recreate them with same settings, and packet-lost = 0 ?!?

So I think there is something definitely related to packet created by RouterOS 6.2, maybe something with special-footer=yes ? There is no special-footer in 5.25.

Does it possible to integrate “Stats sample to keep” in RouterOS 5.25 or maybe 5.26 ? I have no luck with 6.2.

Here a screenshot for 5.25 (on RB750) with good latency and jitter reports.

Thanks.

I just upgraded 6.2 to 6.3 on RB750, and got the same problem.

My supout.rif has been sent to the support team.

we are working on the issue.
