Traffic shaping rule by IP?

Hello,

I read now a pretty amount of Mikrotik docs and wiki’s and searched on this board, but I don’t seem to have found an answer to that. Maybe someone can help?

We are a company with VPS customers, and we’d like to do traffic shaping per IP or customer. This means, we are looking for a bandwidth manager (RouterOS for example) or appliance (Routerboard for example), which can limit the bandwidth (let’s say 100 to 10MBit/sec) to an IP after this IP hit a limit (example: 1000GByte) in a certain period. This rule should be configurable to an IP range or segment.

Is RouterOS or Routerboard able to do that? Thank you.

Best Regards,
Michael Sh.

Yes, it is possible.
There are many different methods and a lot of examples in the wiki:

Hello,

I went already through all those examples, but haven’t found really the one which can do that. I probably have missed that one, could you point me out to the right example? Thank you.

Best Regards,
Michael
