Transferring an active P1 license between CHRs: procedure and impact on existing P Unlim

I have an active paid license P1 (tied to my Account 1) on an old CHR. I need to transfer it to a new CHR, where:

  1. A trial license is currently active.

  2. There is an already active license P Unlim, from an unknown Account

Key questions:

  1. Correct transfer procedure: In this scenario, will running the /system license generate-new-id command on the new CHR help release the license? Or is a different method required?

  2. Ownership issue: The target CHR already has a license P Unlim from an unknown account. Attempting /system license renew results in: ERROR: licensing error: problem with system id, contact the machine owner. The "machine owner" is me, and a have no idea where license P Unlim came from

  3. Activation on a device with trial: Is it possible to activate a paid license P1 on a device where a trial has already been activated?

I need to understand the official and safe course of action to successfully transfer the P1 license and avoid any locks.

There, I fixed it for you.

For #3, yes, but only until/if the trial has not expired (within 60 days):

For #1 that will change the system id, then - if you have on your Mikrotik account a license for P1 you can apply that license to the new ID, after having added this new system ID.
If you prefer, all the "magic" is on the Mikrotik account, and later "downloaded" or "replicated" on the RouterOS instance.
BUT the issue that should IMHO be resolved BEFORE anything else is #2, maybe that unlimited license is on another account, or maybe it is a database error of some kind.

For this you should ask for assistance at support@mikrotik.com, which BTW are the ONLY people (members of the forum here are mostly Mikrotik users and their replies, including mine, are just opinions, not official advice) that can - if they wish - provide you with official answers.
