Transmitting LLDP frames on hAP ac

Hello,

there is an issue I have been struggling with for quite some time: I cannot get our hAP ac’s to sumbit LLDP frames

The Hardware is

       routerboard: yes
        board-name: hAP ac
             model: RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT
     serial-number: XXXXXXXXXX
     firmware-type: qca9550L
  factory-firmware: 3.31
  current-firmware: 7.16.1
  upgrade-firmware: 7.16.1

I set lldp specifically unter /ip/neighbor/discovery-settings:

   discover-interface-list: discover
         discover-interval: 30s
  lldp-med-net-policy-vlan: disabled
       lldp-mac-phy-config: yes
       lldp-max-frame-size: no
            lldp-vlan-info: yes
            lldp-poe-power: yes
                  protocol: lldp
                      mode: tx-and-rx

The “discover” list includes the interface “sfp1” - which is connected directly to another switch (be it HP or Juniper) also running LLDP.

When I run the sniffer on the RouterOS side of things (filter-mac-protocol=lldp) I only see incoming LLDP frames, but never ones originating from the device itself. Also I can see other devices fine (unter /ip/neighbor).

I have other RouterOS devices (for instance a RB2011UiAS) doing LLDP just fine (rx and tx) - but the hAP’s would never work.

What am I missing here?

Thank you and best regards,

Alex

Does nobody has any clue?

I tested with RouterOS 7.2.3 - LLDP frames will be transmitted

7.14 - negative

7.16 - negative

7.20 - negative

Are there any quirks I have to keep in mind with the QCA-8337? As I said, it receives LLDP Frames just fine. Only TX nothing happens.

A RB951Ui-2nD with RouterOS 7.20.6 also transmits LLDP frames

Happens both with VLAN-filtering enabled and disabled.

Best regards,

Alex
