I’m trying to connect a RB411 CPE, running v3.3 to a generic, non-mikrotik AP
I’m trying to use the “station-pseudobridge” feature, I want to bridge the CPE.
What I am doing, and doesn’t seem to be working is:-
create wireless interface, connect to AP, or mode “station-pseudobridge”
create bridge interface
add wlan1 and ether1 to bridge ports
The wireless connection is working, ie associated, but I cannot ping the AP from behind the bridge?? Am I missing something small/vital/big?
On a more general note .. I know a bridge is “bad”, but if my AP has DHCP server with public IP range, how can I serve equipment behind CPE a public IP unless I bridge?
Then in wireless choose station-wds and under wds tab choose dynamic and add to bridge1
If your AP allows wds then it should just work. I’ve never understood what pseudobridge is used for so while we are discussing the subject someone may mention why I would use one vs. the other.
If your AP supports WDS this is the way to go. Else, prsudobridge is a MT feature, I don’t believe it will work with a generic AP. If neither, WDS is support and if I am correct saying that the presudobridge is just a MT feature, then you will not be able to bridge your client radio with a MT.
