hello all,
excuse a newbie Q from a Stockholm suburb. I’ve got a PTP link of about only 300m that worked super in the winter time but almost died as a few trees along the way grew their foliage in april/may. come late Sept I guess things will work again (I do get line of sight when leaves fall) but until then:
Are the propagation properties of 802.11, nstreme och nv2 any different in this case? would channel at 5180 propagate/bounce any different than say 5700 MHz? I currently run the NV2 protocol and have fiddled with TDMA period and max distance params but I can find no pattern of improvement. how ‘wide’ (in angle vertical and horisontal plane) a cone do my antennas send/how super exact is alignment needed to be to get ‘visibility’ at all? it is a little difficult to get perfect visual alignment through those trees today, after I’ve moved both ends of link up vs sideways to try to improve matters
thanks in advance,
peter
