Trouble with new RB493GAH

Hi there

I got a new RB493GAH.

Initially it seemed to boot fine (i.e. sound is heard, beep and then some fast beeps) but the board never showed up in winbox.

Then it just stopped. When I plug it in (both with power adapter 12v and a 24V gigabit PoE injector) 4 of 5 LEDS (left of the Ethernet ports) go on and remain on with no sound.

I tried shorting the kidney bean shaped contacts marked reset and powering it up, as well as the button between the serial port and eth1 with no luck.

I unfortunately do not have a null modem cable to check what is produced on the serial console.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this a known issue with new boards.

Swapped it out for a new one

Tested at the distributor, and he could connect. Got home, no winbox, did a netinstall and it could see the board. Upgraded to 6.26, netinstall reported success after a reboot. Then on the next boot, nothing again. Same symptoms.

Anybody?

it would be easier if you could attach serial console and see what happening there.

Could you try to put in microSD cad in slot. an see how it goes.

Hi

I tried attaching a serial cable, but I see nothing on the console and no, I have not added an SD card to it.

I swapped it out again, the distributor’s technical guys can’t seem to figure it out.

There are 5 LEDs next to the USB interface. After a successful boot these are all off. Currently I see 4 of them on (LD41 - LD44). Does anyone know what this means?

Reset’s do not work, nothing comes up. Please help

it very unusually, We have updates couple of RB493G from factory stock 5.26 to 6.27 and everything went fine. even no need to netinstall.

That is the thing, only the second one I got to NetInstall and, according to the app, upgraded to 6.26.

I’m thinking a bad batch of some component

I know what an RB493G is, and I know what an RB493AH is, but what the heck is a RB493GAH?
