I have been using MT for several years now, Never had any problems until i started using rb112/532 and mpci cards. (i blame the mpci cards)
I build my own towers, usually around 80-120ft, and had used Teletronics 200mw b pcmcia cards for 3 or 4 years, never a failure. (using comet 12db omni, and a teletronics 1w amp)
I started to use rb112’s w/ CM9 or 8602 this year, and it seems that i am always replacing cards. especially the 8602 (6 8602’s and 3 CM9’s)
I have done nothing different at new tower sites, grounding is the same, surge suppressors etc…
So whats the difference between the rock solid Teletronics card and the MPCI cards. and why doesnt surge suppression keep the mpci card safe?
Are the mpci cards of less quality?
I have ordered SR2’s but expect the same results after reading this post
I also plan to try the grounding rod by Gerard.
