Hi Folks,
I am using an RB912 with a built in 2.4Ghz WAP for outdoors LAN coverage with a 3G PCIe card for a back up WAN connection. I currently have a WISP primary WAN connection terminating on my Cisco 897 office router.
Can I do both of these over the single Ethernet port in the 912?
- Trunk my two SSID Vlans up to the 912’s WAP from the Cisco 897. < Cisco is capable.
- Pass the WAN IP from the 3G PCIe card down to the Cisco 897 for it to make fail over and routing decisions. < Cisco is PPPoE capable.
If so what would be best practice here?
- Keep the link as dot1q trunk, tag the WAN packets from the 3G card on the 912 and run PPPoE on the Cisco?
Any thoughts on the feasibility of this very much appreciated.
