Trying to install latest beta ISO as a vm - no harddrives fo

Hi all,

To comply with CALEA, I’m trying to install the beta 3 ISO into a Virtual Machine using VMWare Server and whenever I try to boot up the ISO, I get the following:

ISOLINUX 2.08 2003-12-12 Copyright (C) 1994-2003 H. Peter Anvin
Loading linux....................
Loading initrd.rgz........
Ready.
Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.

Looking for harddrives...

FATAL ERROR: no harddrives found
Press ENTER to reboot

I am trying to install it on a 1U server that has 1 IDE hard drive.

Anyone know why I’ve receiving this error?

Thanks in advance.

try to install it into the server just like that, no VM

please note, that VMware by default creates SCSI emulated harddrive and that is not supported by RouterOS. as routerOS supports SATA/IDE drives only.

I got that same trouble too. Then I change my hard drive type from SCSI to IDE and it works.

I installed it as a regular machine and all works well now.

Thanks!

I have SATA hard in regular machine (HP dc7900) the same error raised can any one help please
