Hi,
I have some fiber optic cloud (10G) between two RB1100AHx2 (RoS 6.7).
However, when I test performance using rouerboard Bandwith Test I’ve got only 300Mbit/s.
Is there any way to optimize routers?
- I don’t have any queues on the router. Is there any difference if I’m using “only-hardware-queue” or “multi-q-ether-default” for interfaces.
- Should I use “Allow Hw. Fast Path” on (attach)? I didn’t found any info about this setting.
- I use ether1 as input and ether6 as output interface. Can I assign different CPU for different switch? How?

Test UDP. The 1100 Cannot produce enough TCP frames to get a lot more traffic than 300 MB/s ( more than Your HD would perform)
BTW, 10Ge and 1100? (NO NO NO) Yo must have a Maximum 1Gig to this. (if a link between is 1G 10G or 100G, is no different as long as port speed is 1G.
PS! Remember that switch Group have just one Connection to kernel. 1-5 Have 1G, 6-10 have 1G and 11,12 and 13 have 1G eatch. If you have port1 and port2 in and out, you would just have 1G to kernel. Giving half the speed, since it sharing internal bandwith
To see how this is connected, ports having the same l2mtu, is usual Connected to kernel trough same 1G Connection.
Using MPLS, switch chip etc, give you more speed, since traffic dont have to flow trough Your kernel.
