I’ve experienced that my l2tp tunnel from one MT to another MT is terminating cause of message: old tunnel not closed yet…
How do I reset the old tunnel?
I’ve tried to reboot the router, reboot the gateway, but no luck. I have even tried to make new tunnel, but still prompts same message.
This happens on the side with the l2tp-client.
No log entries is printed on the router with l2tp-server running.
I have been seeing these as well over the past months and wondered why as well. I thought it had to do with the server allowing ‘only-one’ connection for that named user - but never tested that. I did packet sniff and I was seeing 2 different tunnel IDs in the l2tp headers, which lead me to believe it was the ‘only-one’ setting. Possibly something to do with connection-tracking and l2tp. I never went past that.
Are you using multiple default gateways?
