I tried using IPIP and EoIP for my tunneling from a local to a remote router. The tunnel are used for transfering internet data. It works fine. But sometimes it will be disconnected without any cause. And i could not re enable it, i need to use another tunneling to make the tunnel work. Explanation :
Eoip down, i need to switch to IPIP. No matter what i do on the EoIP, it doesn’t work. So does the IPIP, when it goes down, i need to switch to EoIP.
I have check the config on my local and remote router, nothing is wrong. The remote router has EoIP and IPIP tunenling to other router and it works seamlessly, but the weird this is i couldn’t make my local router tunnel to remote router very well. The tunnel could only hold for 1-2 days before it would disconnect. I have tried every ways :
Change the MTU from 1500 to 1460
Change the MAC address assign to my tunnel
But both way that i tried is never works. Has anyone ever had this problem? Please help me thank you. Both of my router are using 2.9.38
