Turn off/remove Wave 2 from new AC3 Wi-Fi router.

Newbie here, who foolishly bought a AX3 hoping to use it to control an old Cap ac and groove A 52s for seamless networking at my farm. After about a week of tinkering to now have a decent understanding of network programming, I have learned that I have been on a fools errand, since AX3 is married to wave 2 and my APs aren’t compatible.

As such, the AX3 is going in a drawer and I need to buy an AC2 or AC3. I have read where AC3 is compatible with Wave2, but I if I buy am AC3 I don’t want it to be married to the Wave2 like AX3 is.

Is it possible to turn off or remove Wave 2 from a new AC3 router?

For ac3, you can choose to run wave2 instead of factory default legacy wireless driver.

If you look closely, then you’ll see that even on ax3 wave2 is separate package. If you uninstall it, you loose wifi on ax3 while on ac3 by uninstalling wave2 you revert to legacy wireless (which is integral part of system package in ROS v7).
