Turning off STP Protocol

What is the harm in turning off STP Protocol for a home network using a 2011UAS-2HnD?

Issue:
There is currently no way to adjust the hello-time which gets sent out every two seconds. This causes the Wi-Fi activity light to fire every two seconds on Samsung Galaxy S4 mobile phones running Android 4.2.2.

Additional info:
I have a wlan1, ether2 and ether6 as Bridge port members. The two ether ports are master for the others. There are several mobile phones on Wi-Fi and a couple of PC’s on the GB and 100MB interfaces. No other switch is connected. Naturally, a cable modem is on ether1.

usually this isn’t a problem in a home environment. As long as you don’t create a switch loop in your network, you should be fine.
