I am totally new to Mikrotik wireless equipment and RouterOS. I have an RB433AH v.4.2 with two cards (SR71-15 and XR5).
If I have the wireless cards disabled but are they actually turned off? I don’t want to burn out any components since no antenna is connected. What’s funny is that I can do a frequency scan even tho wlan1 and wlan2 are disabled?
When I do enable either of the wireless cards and then I try give them IP’s they show up as italicized. What does it mean when a device italicized? How can I make it on and available?
Thank you for your answers
Hope you are having a good new year so far!
I am fairly certain the cards are turned off when disabled.

Scan is a receive only function. I don’t know that this is related to the transmitter

When you see the interface name italicized (under IP->Addresses for example) it means that the interface is not in a “running” state. For wireless cards, this means the card is not connected to an AP or, if running as an AP, it has no clients connected.
