Two APs - Same SSID with seamless connection for clients. How to?

Guys,

This question may asked thousand times sorry but I’d like to be clear once and for all. Is CAPsMAN is used to just configure multiple APs centralized way or it’s also used to have a seamless connection between the APs?

My main goal is to have two wifi access points connected to a main router, with the same SSID so the client device would connect to the one with strongest signal.

As long as you configure as mentioned below, you will get your “seamless experience”:

  • SSID is identical
  • All security settings are equal
  • Channels are non overlapping
  • Both accesspoints are on the same L2 network

As far as I know there is no 802.11v currently (which would make the handover faster). CAPsMAN won’t add any roaming magic to this.
