I am very wondered on mikrotik’s DHCP relay that there is unable to create more than one DHCP relay on the same interface and subnet.
I have 2x windows server setup with DHCP failower cluster with load ballancing 50:50. It works perfectly. But now I have newly added separate subnet and so I want to use my main windows DHCP (I want to have DHCP management on one place) on that subnet so I need DHCP relay. But I need 2x DHCP relay for this subnet’s interface for load ballancing the leases, but it is unable on mikrotik??? It says that:
Couldn’t add New DHCP Relay - relay with such interface is already enabled (6)
Why?? Why mikrotik solves why admin wants to add more than one DHCP relay on the same interface?
Time to time on the servers is need to do some mainteenance and then restart the servers… On my main network it works perfectly that I don’t need to take care about any reconfiguration if one of the win server is restarted, the only need is that one server must be running. But with mikrotik this functionality is killed out.
Some ideas?
(I found probably 2 therads where is asked some simillar but the answers… nothing usefull is written and certainly not for this case)
