I’ve been trying to change my home network so that my iptv (requiring a router from my ISP) would be separate from my home network, however if I use the 250GS to divide my wan connection to the two routers I can’t get the ip-tv to work.
250GS
port 1 - uplink to ISP
port 2 - Routerboard 450G with my home network behind it
port 5 - Router provided by my ISP and the IP-tv box
There should be nothing special about my own network, but the router from the ISP fetches two WAN ip’s, the other one (with multicast) is on VLAN252 on the ISP’s end (so i guess the 250 should just leave all the vlan tags as they are?).
Whatever I’ve tried it seems I can’t get the ip-tv to work, meaning it seems the traffic to vlan 252 on the ISP’s end is not going through.
Any idea how the configuration should be? Just setting vlan as enabled and optional (or leave as is) did not seem to work…
I understand.. But my isp offers dhcp etc, and supports me grabbing 5 public ip addresses. As far as I’d understand I don’t need it to route, just pass the packages forward.
