Two or more dude servers on the samo WINXP machine

Hi,

can i run two or more dude servers on the same WinXP machine?

I need this because i cant monitor all of my maps on one server.
I have more users that need to see only maps that i want them to see.

Thank you.

Is this because of the limit on the number of network connections on an XP machine?
If so you won’t be able to get around it by running a second server - it is a global limit.

I would move the server to a system without the limits or patch/hack windows XP to allow more than the 10 concurrant connections it currently has.

You can google for solutions to removing the limits but I wouldn’t advise messing about with this too much.

Again, I would advise against these hacks and move to a system that has less limits.

Good luck.

I think that i’m misunderstood.

I don’t know how to run and manage two dude servers on XP machine. Is it possible?

Example:

I have 2 clients (2 companies totally divided) and they want to monitor their own network devices (on the level: if it’s green everything is OK, if it’s red call someone to fix the problem )
I don’t want that client from first company is able to see network devices from the other company.
I have one machine (it could be any OS) available to do that.

I can add users in Dude but i can only limit them not to write but i can’t limit users by ‘view’ rights. Every user can see every map that is monitored on that dude server.

Is it possible to install two servers on different ports? If it could be done then i’ll configure first server to monitor network of first client and second to monitor network of second company.

Ah I see.

Well I’m going with “NO” as I had problems foring my single Dude instance to use a specific NIC.

You could always install VMWARE or another virtual server system on top and run another OS in a VM.
Thus having 2 machines on one machine.
