Two rb500r5 <-> wireless bridge

Hello all,

I cama across two rb500r5 (License Lvl 4) with R52 wireless cards. I wanted to use these devices as a wireless bridge, so my LAN is extended over the wireless link. so to speak a point-to-point connection with NO other wifi clients.
I spent the whole weekend browsing the wiki pages and googling for faqs and infos, but I am confused about the millions of settings.
seem to be to stupid to get this done, so now I ask for help :slight_smile:

could someone show me how to set this up if I only want these two devices connect to each other and not have additional wifi devices?

any hint is appreciated!

you can try to upgrade to RouterOS v5.21, do a system reset and try out the new QuickSet Point-to-Point option.

Hi

I already tried to use the quick set function.
It works if I set one rb500 to “AP bridge”, but then I cannot connect the other rb500 as “Station Bridge”

Is it wrong to set one rb500 to AP bridge? What would be the correct way to do it?

upgrade to RouterOS v5.21 and try out the new Quickset PTP setup - that should work.

ah ok, after upgrading from 5.20 to 5.21 i found this setup option, and even better: it wors :slight_smile:

is there a way to make it work with a hidden ssid?
