TX-RX

Hello Guys ;
I have link of two Antenna, the first one is D1 and the second is D2 .
In the registration table of D2 there is registered item that is D1 and The TX-RX signal strength (dBm) is 53/43 ,
So i want to know which one ( D1 or D2 ) is need to Tilt
Please inform me
Thanks in advanced

From measurements made on static equipment you don’t know which antenna needs to be tilted … antenna pattern is identical for both TX and RX (at same antenna port) and if antenna is miss-aligned for TX, then it’s miss-aligned for RX as well. By the same amount of dB, so from numbers alone you can’t know, which antenna (TX or RX) is miss-aligned.
The only way of finding that out is to go on a tower with some measurement device in hand and find out if signal level of D1 side is at its maximum value near antenna D2. If it’s not, then you need to adjust tilt of antenna D1. And repeat procedure at site 1 to verify tilt of antenna D2. It’s quite probable that you won’t notice much of a difference between ground level and top of tower if that distance is small compared to beam height at the distance between antenna D1 and antenna D2.
And, while doing it, check the azimuth settings as well … specially so if it’s a PtP link.
