Does anybody know actually power consumption values of the hAP ac (MikroTik RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT hAP ac)?
The spec lists “max 17 W” as power consumption (https://mikrotik.com/product/RB962UiGS-5HacT2HnT).
Can anybody report what the (range of) typical power consumption of this device is?
Is it really this high?
The power draw depends on your usage. Imagine if all the ports were full, the last one was doing PoE out, both network cards were in use and the device is routing/switching max traffic. That is not a typical scenario.
Yes, sure. Still, I am interested in a number of common scenarios, e.g. wifi 2,4 + all ports in use + no PoE.
Any scenario with an actual power consumption would be useful to me.
Had the same question: my hap ac averaged 5,7 W with 2,4 and 5 GHz on, 2 Ethernet Ports in use (CPU typically 5-10% load).
Shutting off 2,4 GHz will save about .7 W, the 5 GHz uses much less. Ethernet ports are about .2 W in idle.
