Uber newbie questions

I have purchased a CRS125-24G-1S-RM because I was looking to learn some more about networking/switches. Think I might have jumped into the deep end and Im a little lost.

I would like to just setup a basic home network. I have a cable modem in bridge mode with a static IP address. I would like to have the CRS125 manage DHCP for some wireless devices and some manual IP addressing for other devices. I am planning on using my existing wireless router (think its a d-link) as an wireless access point. All the youtube videos and doc’s I can find are on OS v5.x and looks very different then what I am working with…that or they go way over my head.

I have attached a pic of what my simple network would look like. Can anyone give me a hand?

Dude you are just going to have to do some Googling to learn the Tiks. It is not a huge deal for what you want to do. Greg Sowell has an awesome Youtube channel of tutorial videos. Check them out.

If you have the default config loaded - generally you will be able to get online… You say your modem has a static IP - LAN or WAN?

Also to note: Is the WAP a WAP or a ROuter with a WAP? If a router with WAP - be sure to turn DHCP off and plug a LAN port into the Mikrotik.
