UDP in Bandwidth Test between Subnets

My Setup:
2 x RB133c with SR9: One in Station mode, the other in Bridge mode. No WDS.
See Picture Below:

I’m having problems with Bandwidth Test.

  • Pings OK in either direction
  • If I try to initiate Bandwidth Test from either end via Winbox I get “Auth. Fail” Any ideas?
  • If I try to initiate Bandwidth Test from “The Dude” it runs. Running in TCP mode (both directions) I get a very respectable throughput and the cards register at 54Mbps. However, if do the same test for UDP I get flatline, zero throughput. Any ideas?

Cheers

The auth failed message means that you didn’t enter the right username and password for the test to run. Go to the other tab in the bandwidth test window and make sure to type in the same credentials you use to login via winbox.

I have had issues running UDP tests on 133c boards, I get the same thing - flatline. The weird thing is the cpu utilization does seem to spike and ping times go up like it is really passing data, but it just can’t report what’s actually going through it. They seem to run okay on my 532A’s.
