Unable to access internet after configuration change - HELP!

Hi all,
Really fuming at the moment. I finally got broadband connected where I am (quasi rural; wireless) and from what I’ve managed to work out in brief this afternoon while playing around is that I’m running a routerboard (almost 100% certain, contained in a small box near antenna).

I enabled two options:

  • Protect Router
  • Protect Customer

after which then my internet promptly died. I can still ping the router (address: 192.168.0.254) and it will still assign a DHCP address specifying itself as the gateway, but allows no WAN/Internet traffic to pass through.

Additionally, I can no longer connect to the router management interface or telnet to the router, leaving me in a bad situation.

If someone can help me with this I’d massively appreciate it. According to my cached copy of the page, “mikrotik routeros 2.9.38 configuration page” is in the footer, so version 2.9.38.

Thanks in advance,

Sam

You might be able to telnet into you router to make changes. There is also a utility “WinBox” on the MT download page. But better to contact your ISP to set thing backs up properly. I don’t know what those commands in webbox set. This is why we disable the router web utility on all our CPEs.
