Unable to auth email

On June 26, 2024 my isp transfered my 20 year old email cox service to Yahoo.
Yahoo has it setup so existing cox email address is ongoing and fully able to setup all email accounts with no problem.

HOWEVER, my RouterOS cox email I used to send status information quit working. It had only password auth.
So I reset SMTP ip address and continued with port 587 turning on “start-tls: yes” in config.
However it didn’t work. Having 2fa on Yahoo I added application password and added to email config.
That didn’t work either giving me AUTH error in log. Have tryed all things I know to do and
found thread "http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/e-mail-starttls-option-not-there/164818/5

Tryed all the conbination of options for auth in email config, turn off 2fa on Yahoo and regenerated app password.

Tryed setting up gmail email same way, but with same problems.

Current version RouterOS 6.49.15, WinBox 64 v 3.40
No changes to anything other than installing new versions of router os for last two years.
And this cox email server change.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :frowning:

As usual I figured it out after I posted question.

Found answer within the Youtube Indonesia video.

Initial SMTP setup for application authentication.

After setting up emal settings via /tool e-mail settings you MUST click on the “Send Email” within the email settings popup to allow the application password to authenticate. Once that is done, all the scripts now work properly.

Hopefully this will save someone else a little time.
