Hi all,
I have a RouterBOARD 962UiGS-5HacT2HnT
It is connected to my ISP supplied OLT. The advertised speed of the connection is 1GBPS and that is what ether1 shows when it is connected to the ISP’s modem which is running in bridge mode.
My ISP uses pppoe.
I am not getting the advertised speed of 1GBPS. I realize that this could be an ISP issue but I want to ensure that my router configuration is correct before I engage with my ISP.
I have run the speed tests with single and multi-connections from http://speedtest.net. The maximum I have got is about 800MBPS. I usually get speeds in the high seven hundreds.
My primary desktop from which I run the test is connected via a cable to the router.
I am attaching an export hide-sensitive to this message. I have only made one change to the file by redacting the user name which the hide-sensitive still left visible.
Note:
I do have some specific IP segments defined on various interfaces for different sets of devices. I am not going into too much detail here but am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Looking at test results, 700-800 is very reasonable for your device and I would have guessed more like maxing out at 500 based on filter rules

if you want 1Gig out of your connection you should purchase the rb4011 or rb4011 with wifi.
If you want 1gig at VPN speeds look at the CCR1009 series
Hi,
Many thanks. I am tempted to grab the rb4011 with wifi at some future point. The CCR range seems to be a tad overkill for my small setup but I am glad its there and I’ll factor it in into my next upgrade.
