Hello Forum,
on a RouterBOARD 951G-2HnD
whenever I try to load any packaged metarouter image (i.e. openwrt) I get the error message that:
“Couldn’t continue - import failed: could not extract: archive is too short (6)”
I’ve googled around and there seems to be not a lot of guidance out there on what to do.
I tried uploading images via the Files WEB GUI page, or via FTP (both filezilla and command line) but nothing changes.
Once you upload the file to the router, check for its size on files, is the expected one?
If so, download it from the router to your PC and use an md5 checksum utility to compare a copy of the file prior to uploading, and the copy you downloaded from the router (to rule out it being corrupted while transferring).
Where are you uploading the file, to the NAND internal memory or USB external storage?
My guess is that the files become corrupted when you download them, by using a browser that provides
services for you that you don’t want. (like uncompressing the file for you)
Especially Internet Explorer is known for such problems. Try a different browser.
