Hello my friends..!
so i couldn’t been able to install openWRT on my rb951ui, and when i navigate through openWRT wiki i read this statement below, so what about that..?
does Mikrotik stop support this openWRT firmware feature..?
also if anyone -(who deal with this openWRT before)- can give me an advise about it, is it true that the MT feature become more diversitile if we install openWRT firmware on it..?

Do you think MikroTik did support it any time?
Think this question should be asked on the OpenWRT forum instead.
this guy here installed on RB750Gr3..!

Your screenshot states that OpenWRT is no longer supported by OpenWRT on specific MikroTik hardware. MikroTik has never supported any other OS other then the once they supply with their hardware.
That screenshot does not indicate OpenWRT is not supported by Mikrotik.
It states that version of OpenWRT is not supported anymore due to a change in HW. Big difference indeed.
Because yes, OpenWRT has never been supported by Mikrotik (why should they ??)
The same screenshot also indicates there is a work-around.
So where would the best chance be to get support on that particular topic ??
Short answer: Good.
Long answer:
Take your openwrt and put it where the sun dont shine, this is an MT forum and if you have learned anything here in the short time, its mated to ROS.
Hmmm, The otherwise extremely helpful Anav having a bad day? ![]()
This is a user forum for not only ROS, but for MT devices in general.
My opinion about OpenWRT is, that even if MT does not support it, it´s great to have an alternative.
Even if I buy an MT for OpenWRT I still bought an MT and that´s good for MT.
Still OpenWRT installation is rather something, which belongs to an OpenWRT forum.
Next time I want install Ubuntu on the MacBook Pro, I ask directly Apple support…
“Upside Down” reply:
They can’t even make v7 do at least the same things that v6 did, and do you think that someone takes care of OpenWRT?
See how they replaced the user-manager with something else that has nothing to do with the user-manager…
At least keep the previous user-manager and the new “play-manager” call it in another name…
That´s OFF, sorry. Some actually useful posts for Macbook users trying Ubuntu :

EDIT: @rextended: had to turn my display upside down, before I noticed your “upside down answer”, but I agree, ROS 7 has issues.
As I am a home scale user of MT I can live with those for the time being. I very much hope for MTs (and the users) sake that they will catch up and the WISP userbase will not abandon MT.
MT HW is great (except for the 16MB flash) but MT SW has some room for improvement.
No, the usual response to questions he finds extremely off topic (or stupid).
MKX astute as always… someday, we need to have some drinks together… also trying hard to zip it and not tell woeland to take a hammer and some sand.. ![]()
I did my first hotspot systems on mikrotiks, many years ago. Later on, I switched to openwrt for this purpose, because much more open, with many more packages to choose from, giving the opportunity of some specialities, i.e. example running a squid proxy, nginx server or coova-chilli CP on mikrotiks, some of which are officially supported by openwrt.
However, because openwrt is truly open source, it relies on the motivation of the developers, to adapt openwrt to new hardware (versions).
So, in case you “only” want a good and simple router, no need to use openwrt on MT. But in the area of IoT, for example, connecting a mikrotik to AWS-IoT, besides some routing tasks, is a good job for openwrt.
Last, not least, for somebody being familar with LINUX, openwrt is much easier to understand. And to configure.
In Summary: A hymn to openwrt software. And mikrotik hardware.
You can always dream! ![]()
