I have a new to me RBwAPR-2nD&R11e-LTE that I was able to power on once, connect to it’s broadcasted SSID for initial configuration, and then I was never able to connect to it again. Resets did not work, nor did my attempt to recover using netinstall. Below is a summary of my troubleshooting. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
MikroTik RBwAPR-2nD&R11e-LTE Netinstall recovery attempt (Windows host) — BOOTP seen, Netinstall doesn’t detect device
Device: MikroTik RBwAPR-2nD&R11e-LTE (wAP R + LTE)
Known RouterOS on device: 6.48.6
Goal: recover via Netinstall, then update RouterOS
Setup
-
Windows PC connected directly to MikroTik ether1
-
Windows Ethernet IPv4 set static to 192.168.88.2/24 (no gateway/DNS)
-
Netinstall run as Administrator, Net booting enabled, Boot Server IP set to 192.168.88.2
-
RouterOS package available: routeros-arm-6.48.6.npk
Reset / Netinstall mode attempts
-
Followed the manual reset timing for Netinstall/Etherboot (hold reset during power-on; release at the ~15s stage when the status LED is expected to turn off).
-
On this unit the non-port LED near the power LED behaves solid → blinking → off during the hold; released at the “off” point repeatedly. (Note that this is not consistent with the manual, which says it should be blinking → solid → off
Observed behavior
-
Link is up (Ethernet LEDs show link/activity).
-
Netinstall never shows the RouterBOARD / never lists any PXE client or device to select/install.
-
Packet capture confirms the MikroTik sends repeated BOOTP boot requests (source 0.0.0.0 to broadcast) and the Windows host sends BOOTP replies from 192.168.88.2, but Netinstall still does not detect/list the device.
Current status
- Unable to get Netinstall to display the device and therefore cannot push an .npk install.
