I’m trying to prepare a replacement router.
I made a backup file using the button in winbox under Files, this is v3.17 on x86
I transferred the file to a new RB493 running v3.11 (mipsbe)
When I try and restore the backup using winbox, I get an error dialog, “Couldn’t restore configuration - no file name”.
The file name is listed in the file info dialog where I clicked the Restore button, it tells me it’s of type: Backup.
What gives?
You need to have the same version on the MT that the file came from… i.e. you cannot restore a 3.17 file to a 3.11 box..
That seems to be the case, I was able to restore once I got the same version on both boxes.
