Unable to upgrade / downgrade Router OS

Hi,

I have purchased a new LHG XL AC, but it is neither upgrading nor downgrading. It is also rebooting frequently as soon as I make any changes to Wireless Frequency and wireless related setting or scan frequency usage. I have tried upgrading / downgrading to several versions but I get error - “Kernel failure during last boot.”
Strange thing I notice is different ROS version and different router boot version
ROS Version - 6.40.8
Routerboard Version - 6.41.3

What is the process for downgrading Routerboard (not the RouterOS itself) ? Tried the normal procedure, but nothing is working.

Hi

You will net to run netinstall and make sure you have a good install on it, I have also go LHG 5 AC that is doing the same,

Thanks for your response.
Which Netinstall version shall I download - 6.40.8 or 6.42.1 ?

Did netinstall solve your problem?

Download the latest netinstall so 6.42

yes the device now appears to be stable again, but i need to continue testing, I flashed the bug fix only package via netinstall, upgraded the firmware ( which will hopefully be a lower number than what was currently installed) once that had completed i upgraded the device via the normal channels.

Hope this helps

Thanks Matt!
Net Install finally solved the problem. Upgraded to the latest version now. But to all readers remember one thing, netinstall might not work with Windows 10. As I tried several times with Win 10 but failed to transfer files. When tried with Win 7 it completed in seconds.
