unable to upgrade OS version from 2.9 to 3.28

Hi..

I am running 2.9-router OS(level-5 license) in IBM server-22x (Xenon processor,IDE hard disk,4GB ram), I am trying to upgare the package from 2.9 to 3.28,but not able to do.

I am able to copy the files in router OS but after reboot, it is showing the same 2.9 version. please help

check in the log, there will be a reason for the failed upgrade

In the log error is “licencse does not support new version of system-3.28..”

but we are having valid level-5 license.

in the license menu you will also see the date until which your license allowed upgrading. old licenses had time limit for upgrades.

hi..

in license menu it is showing upgradable untill :-Jan/01/2008. but today only we purchased this license.

In that case, you need to use Netinstall to upgrade RouterOS to v3.28 and then apply the license
