Understanding Fasttrack & Firewall

If you look at the speed specs for the hex router, it seems like when you are using fast track your firewall rules and ignored. Is that the case? If you have 25 rules, but you are using fast track, what would be the true wan-lan speeds? It’s confusing. Thanks.

I have worked with many network products but the Fasttrack still pusle me.
A good schematic picture of what is going on would help out, Showing rules, nat, fasttrack etc.

Imagine fasttrack like kind of mangle saying not to process the connection belonging packets by the firewall. If you can make decisions on new packets only and then mark the connection as approved and you do not need to apply queues on the packets, you can mark them to be fasttracked to speed up further processing. It is handy sometimes to offload low performance devices in some cases… Just way of thinking and a feature you can use if you wish.

Jarda that sounds like bypassing the firewall?

Exactly. Is it surprising?

This gives some idea on what is going on.

But I am still not sure if all packet goes trough fasttrack, or fist in a session goes trough normal path, then the rest goes fast path.
