Understanding packet flow

Having looked at the diagrams at http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Packet_Flow, I am a bit confused a about one or two things.

I have a very simple SOHO set up with wlan1 bridged with ether2-master-local. Does this mean anything connected on my local network (192.168.xx.x) is “in-interface bridge” on that diagram?

If so, at what point do they go through the firewall NAT, as I have some name mangles set up for my VPN, which definitely work, yet according to that diagram, they don’t go though the NAT.

Essentially, I find the diagrams quite confusing  and if anybody could offer a bit more explanation, it would be greatly appreciated  .

Thanks
