Hello please I need a clarification about this message:
3 * wireless,debug bauladu1_wireless: wlan1: reject 00:::::**, banned (last failure - assoc failed: association denied for unknown reason (12))
Some days ago I put this mac address in access list with both options AUTHENTICATE and FORWARD to NO to not permit this mac to register onto my AP, now my syslog is filled with hundreds of messages like this.
Please is there a mode to not permit a mac from registering?
What is the meaning of such message? I searched in the wiki pages in the new wireless message explanation section but this message is not present.
Many thanks for your help
regards
Alessandro
I don’t understand your frustration - you banned this MAC, and now are wondering why it doesn’t register? It’s what you configured.
Turn off wireless debug and you probably won’t see the messages anymore.
The debug messages are confirming that your access list rule is working properly and stopping the unit from associating, consequently it keeps retrying.
I don’t think there’s anything more you can do other than to trace the location of the unit and either to offer to reconfigure it or alternatively take a sledge hammer to it. ![]()
The problem is wireless equipment is mass market, but the knowledge to program it correctly so as not to interfere with neighbours isn’t!
hello and many thanks for your replies. probably, due to my poor english, I had not well explained the problem: I don’t want to see any message from a banned MAC; these messages are filling my syslog database with hundreds of unuseful messages.
I will try to turn off debug mode to see if I can stop them.

Alessandro
