Unstable RB450G?

Hello there
I’d like to know if anyone is having any problems with stability on RB450G?
I’ve been experiencing some strange things…

ROS was 2.23
I’ve go up and running:

  • OSPF
  • QueueTree (queued services traffic and shaped user traffic, both with PCQ and mangle, to SQ)
  • UserManager
  • NTPServer
  • enabled logging to disk (no card, just regular flash, and dumping it on different machine every midnight, I know it’s not the best sollution)
And that’s mostly it, not so much

For last 16d everything was great, nothing to complain. But today i had to reboot the router and it didn’t got up. It was booting, but just right after the system loaded it rebooted again, and so on, and so on.
I took my laptop and went to check what was going on. I had to hard reset system settings and i was so happy that I made a backup just the night before. I’ve recovered the backup… and it happens again, router reboots and reboots.
After several ties I’ve deleted all files that were on router (only left the backup), finally restored the backup… And voila! Seems that it works… (then upgraded to 2.24)

I dunno if it is a hardware failure or software failure, or maybe something wrong with my config?
Sorry if it’s not proper topic in wrong place.

What does the log say?

Log says nothing…
I’ve connected RS232 and thought that maybe I’ll find a clue of what was going on, but system was booting normally, when it has loaded it showed up usual login dialog asking for username and pass, I entered username and pass, then the “MIKROTIK” logo apeared, but not the CLI line it just freezed for about 5s and then rebooted with no errors.
It didn’t matter if I was trying to log on or not, it was rebooting itself on and on after similar time. Before reboot the “hdd led” was flashing like it was loading settings.

I’ve found out that erasing all files from flash and restoring backup does the trick and then system runs properly.
I would run some more tests to investigate the case, but it’s working as my main gateway and I don’t wanna play on alive productive network

Maybe it’s not directly RB450G’s problem, but something with my config?

Hello,
no problems AFAIK. Running as core router - NAT, mangle, queue tree, 50Mbit peaks and stable for 50 days .
Running ROS 3.23.
