Hi everyone…i just bought 2 RB333 and installed them on my backbone link…but here is the deal.
Signal levels: tx-rate: “24Mbps”
rx-rate: “48Mbps”
signal-strength: -57dBm
tx-signal-strength: -49dBm
5km distance. Clear line of sight.
bandwith test shows 10mbits one way and 16mbits other. This is fine with me, BUT…
When i put my clients online and they start transferring data…it starts at 700-800kb/s and even more and after 2 seconds…the speed drops down and down and reaches 250kb/s. Then I looked at the signal levels and…:
As you can see the tx-rate and rx-rate drops at 6 mbits.
1 of my cards power is 50mlw and other is 350mlw. Is that a problem?
Do i have to enable anything on the boards. What is nstream exactly for? Do i have to enable it?
My antennas are California type at one end and 90cm Dish at the other.
Cables are fine..i used RB133 until now and reached 600kb/s bandwith.
ok…i will buy the same card theese days. I want to know is this the reason to drop the speed down. what exactly nstream does? do i have to enable copmpression on both sides?
Goes without saying. With nstream disabled your wireless links are working with standard 802.11 protocols, which are not designed to work well with anything more than a few hundred meters.
enabling nstream may not be the solution to your problems, but enabling it should be your first step.
