So what is the difference between these 2 states? Are these differences configurable? Is it as simple as unstable = one failure, and down = 2+ failures?
Also, I’m looking for a way to send an alert after a certain number of failures, but I’m not sure where that option would be. Under a notification’s ‘advanced’ tab is an entry for ‘repeat count’, which seems like the closest thing, but I’m not sure about that.
Thanks for any assistance, and thanks to MT for this great tool.

by default down =10 failure
but u can change the default value with Probe Down Count
in settings of service on device

fixe Probe Down Count at 3 times.
when u have 3 poll unstable, the device switch to down.
repeat count re a different polling dont change state of device exept so well on a change of states is done during polling.
U can make notification when state change up > unstable
and up > down
