Unsupported OSPF version ?!

Hello,

On one subnet I have one RouterBoard RB133 v.3.22, on which I setup OSPF. Router is internal router. IP 10.2.1.254
On the same subnet I have CISCO 1841. Also internal OSPF router. IP 10.2.1.253

I have spoted in Ciscos border-routers table that MT router appeal as a ABR router?! But he isn’t! He is Internal router with all interfaces in one area!

On my logs on Cisco I receive:
*Mar 17 11:14:42.272: %OSPF-4-ERRRCV: Received invalid packet: Bad Checksum from 10.2.1.254, FastEthernet0/0

On MT I receive:
00:59:15 route, ospf, info Discarding packet: unsupported OSPF version
00:59:15 route,ospf,info version=255
00:59:15 route,ospf,info source=10.2.1.253

Is it possible that there’s some problem wtih OSPF versions?!

I have some MT boxes on other subnets and, regarding OSPF, they work well with Cisco routers.

Some solution?

Thanks

please, provide more info about your IOS version, configuration and topology.

Hello,

Thanks for replay. I have sniffed problematic network segment and determined that every second packet sent by MT or CISCO has ospf version flag to 255 ?!?!

On cisco site says that it is probably some switch between them that cause the problem (bed port on some of the switches or on the router).

During this week I will try to determine is it some of the switches or bed ports, and let you know for future reference.

OK. this is interesting.
