i keep seeing ports go up and down status, please not its not only this port 22, randomly change every now and then
What is connected to these ports?
My switch is reporting the same for multiple devices. Which makes sense...
Furthermore, what cable is used in between switch and connected device?
its a laptop and PCs that’s connected to these ports
cable is cat6
i have multiple switch’s in same environment but this is the only switch showing this issue
Something is really wrong, seeing "10M, full duplex".
What RouterOS and firmware are you running?
Gold old basic rules of thumb for wire based networks:
- If you do not know what's going on, check or replace cable(s)
- If it still does not work, go to 1.
i agree with you, but not all cables have issue at the same time i guess ![]()
its 7.18
Are the laptops and PC connected directly to the switch? Or going through some intermediate cabling, such as "wall jack - cable in wall - wall jack in network closet"?
Can you do the following test: take a laptop or a PC that shows the issue above and disable the go-to-sleep/hibernation power saving feature, make sure that it doesn't go to sleep after a few minutes and then note the port it is connected to. After a few hours, verify whether you still see the port going down and up.
Maybe could it be the same type of connected devices? As it was suggested the enrgy saving could switch them off.
At the last picture it could be spotted that between etch13 down and up there are 7, 4 seconds and then 50, 26, 52 ... why so long? On the other hand there is a "double/half" pattern 7 -> 2 x 4, 50 -> 2 x 26 -> 52. For eth4 pattarn is different but it's also not off/on but off ... wait, wait ... on
Are all devices powered from the same pahse? Are they properly grounded?
Is there a coincidence between time/period when it happens and other external situations?
Just guessing.
